the exciting new call-stat platform is added to emiera's portfolio

about the call-stat project...

Product Manager for emiera, Mark Bryan explains the background to the call-stat project "Over the last year we have had several enquiries from a range of corporate customers regarding their monthly or quarterly telephone bills. These enquiries prompted us to conduct a focused research project. During the project, it soon became clear that a product capable of interrogating and displaying call statistics derived from their PTT's call record CD's (including the current BT OneBill), was a general business requirement for most organisations. We have now focused on key requirements and developed the new emiera call-stat platform. In the product conception phase, we identified the need to expand the capabilities of call-stat to cover specific customer requirements. This lead to the adoption of a modular product architecture, which means we can add or adapt functionality to individual customer requirements - without affecting the core product. We believe we have developed a new platform that can be of major benefit to a wide range of businesses in almost any market sector".

making sense of the corporate phone bill...

BT and other carriers currently supply billing details to their corporate customers on a CD containing Call Detail Records (CDR's). These are in most cases free of charge, but are supplied in the carriers own format. Therefore some large corporate customers have a wide variety of billing details in different formats.

Call-stat imports these CDR's and stores them in a custom-built database. This database is then interrogated and a large number of graphical and tabular reports are generated in electronic format. These reports have been designed to show call cost, destination and call duration exceptions - thus enabling managers to identify and control telephone usage and call costs.

In addition, a 'custom report' facility enables users to generate reports that are specific to their requirements.

To enable customers to view their total outgoing call spend, call-stat will be enhanced by the addition of a module to cater for mobile call statistic by importing CDR records from major mobile carriers.
