Customer locator - Field service engineers can enter a customer number via touchtone phone to obtain spoken address details.

Employment screening - Job candidates can begin the application process by answering screening questions via the touchtone phone, streamlining the screening process and lowering recruitment costs. The questions can include verbal responses in addition to touchtone responses.

how menumanager works

menumanager is an Octel Designer software application that works in conjunction with Octel Access Server (OA Server). OA Server is a powerful software solution that provides a connection gateway for software applications, such as menumanager, to control the functionality of the Octel Voice/Fax Servers. The OA Server software is the foundation upon which Octel Designer applications communicate with callers and mailbox functions within the Octel Servers.

Communication between the OA Server and the Octel Message Server use the TCP/IP protocol. OA Server is compatible with both the Octel Serenade™ and Aria™ software platforms (from version 3.0 onwards). Applications such as menumanager build additional value on top of the existing Voicemail and Fax services. Using standard LAN connectivity, access can be given to Customer Databases, Internal Systems and Internet Resources to provide true Computer Telephony Integration, providing services such as Order Processing, Fax Back, Process Automation and Mobility solutions.

To summarise, menumanager and the Message Server communicate with each other via the OA Server. Information and commands are passed between menumanager and the Message Server dependant upon the configuration settings (e.g. menu controls) within menumanager.
